Why Do I Need A SIS PIN?
SIS PINs control access to the SIS system.   For students and employees, a PIN is used as a token to create a personal Orange-Key (O-key) account and master password.   A SIS PIN may be used as an alternate login to check financial aid information, obtain official transcripts, update alternate e-mail addresses, and maintain personal addresses if O-key is not available.
You may have information in our SIS system even if you are not a student or an employee.   If this is the case, you most likely are being billed by the Bursar's Office for services from the Child Development Lab or Veterinary Hospital.
How Do I Know What My SIS PIN Is?
As names are added to the SIS database, a random number is assigned to each name.
You may receive an e-mail from the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, or the O-key Identity Management system which contains your PIN and further instructions.  When the O-key system is updated from information supplied by the SIS database, O-key generates an email that is sent to the address provided on the application for admission.  The Office of Undergraduate Admissions includes the PIN on the acknowledgement letter that is sent shortly after an application is received.  The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid also include the information in their initial correspondence.
Your SIS PIN is a random number that was created when your name was added to SIS, either as a student or when a billing record was created.  If you do not know or have forgotten your SIS pin, please refer to "What if I forget my SIS PIN" below.  You also have a Web for Employees PIN.  If you are an instructor or an advisor, you must request a PIN for Faculty/Advisor Self-Services.  All three of these PINs (student/employee/faculty) could be different.  Use the "Change Pin" feature of each system if you want to make all of them the same.  Use your SIS ID and PIN to make payments on your bursar bill if O-Key is unavailable.  You may also pay your bursar bill by using the "Parent/Guest Payment" option.  You will need to know your CWID (CampusWideID).  Click here to access the Parent/Guest login.
If you need to pay a bursar bill, but have neither a student nor employment relationship with OSU, you may pay on-line with your CWID (CampusWideID) and birthdate by clicking here.  If you do not know or forgot your PIN and you need your PIN for purposes other than making a bursar payment, refer to "What if I forget my SIS PIN" below.
